ERNIE K-DOE - Mother-in-Law [MARDI 'TIL YOU DROP/Rhino]
ERNIE K-DOE - Mother-in-Law [MARDI 'TIL YOU DROP/Rhino]
"As far as I'm concerned, there are only two songs --
	'Mother-in-Law' and 'The Star-Spangled Banner!'"
Ernie K-Doe, Emperor of the Universe, 1936-2001
Played twice in a row, by request.

MUDDY WATERS - Good Morning, Little School Girl [HIS BEST, 1956-1964/
	MCA-Chess]
ELMO WILLIAMS & HEZEKIAH EARLY - Blue Jumped the Rabbit [TAKES ONE
	TO KNOW ONE/Fat Possum]
BUKKA WHITE - Parchman Farm Blues [HARRY SMITH'S ANTHOLOGY OF AMERICAN
	FOLK MUSIC, VOLUME 4/Revenant]
TERRY EVANS - Where the Southern Crosses the Dog [MISSISSIPPI MAGIC/
	Audioquest]

THE BLIND BOYS OF ALABAMA - Way Down in the Hole [SPIRIT OF THE CENTURY/
	RealWorld]
	Song composed by Tom Waits
ONE A-CHORD - His Eye is on the Sparrow [BOUND FOR GLORY/Spirit]
One of New Orleans' premier gospel groups, always a big hit
in the Gospel Tent at Jazzfest.
SPENCER BOHREN - Samson and Delilah [CARRY THE WORD/Zephyr]
By request; Rev. Gary Davis' song, from Spencer's brilliant
	all-acoustic, all-gospel album, self-released.

BILL MONROE & HIS BLUEGRASS BOYS - Blue Yodel #4 [NEWPORT FOLK
	FESTIVAL: BEST OF BLUEGRASS, 1959-66/Vanguard]
HAZEL DICKENS, CAROL ELIZABETH JONES & GINNY HAWKER - I Can't Find
Your Love Anymore [HEART OF A SINGER/Rounder]
Hazel's on lead vocals on this one.
JONES & LEVA - Vertie's Dream [VERTIE'S DREAM/Copper Creek]
JIM MILLS - Bear Tracks [BOUND TO RIDE/Sugar Hill]
Some firey banjo, fiddle and mandolin to bring up the rear
of this set and kick it up a bit.

TIM ERIKSEN - Boston [TIM ERIKSEN/Appleseed]
Peter Irvine says this record is "intensely good". He's right.
KEN BLOOM & HARRY BOLICK - Texas Rangers [THAT BANJO FROM HELL/
	NewTimey]
DIRK POWELL - Western Country [HAND ME DOWN/Rounder]
Jim Miller on vocals, and everyone else tearin' it up!

ERNIE K-DOE - Te-Ta-Te-Ta-Ta
ERNIE K-DOE - I Cried My Last Tear [IT WILL STAND: THE SOUL OF
	NEW ORLEANS, VOLUME 2/Charly]
ERNIE K-DOE - A Certain Girl [THE NEW ORLEANS SOUND/Time-Life]
R.I.P., Emperor of the Universe, 1936-2001

VERNEL BAGNERIS - Down in Honky-Tonk Town [ONE MO' TIME: AN EVENING OF
	1920s BLACK VAUDEVILLE/Warner Bros.]
This long-running show from New Orleans is being revived off-
Broadway. I loved it when I saw it back home, so see it if
	you're in the area.
JAMES P. JOHNSON - Nervous Blues [CAROLINA SHOUT/Biograph]
A little stride piano from 1923, played from piano rolls recorded
	direct to digital.
SYLVIA "KUUMBA" WILLIAMS - Kitchen Man [ONE MO' TIME: AN EVENING OF
	1920s BLACK VAUDEVILLE/Warner Bros.]
The best and most delightfully filthy version of this song I've
ever heard (with apologies to Bessie Smith).

GILLIAN WELCH - Revelator [TIME (THE REVELATOR)/Acony]
Jeez! This'll teach me to open my mail BEFORE my show,
instead of during. Just got this in the mail, and didn't
even know it until the show was 3/4 done. Let's listen to
it together, shall we? (Boy, is it good.)
THE OLD 97s - Up the Devil's Pay [SATELLITE RIDES/Elektra]
THAD COCKRELL & THE STARLITE COUNTRY BAND - Vacancy
	[STACK OF DREAMS/Miles of Music]
EVANGELINE - Train Never Came [FELT LIKE HOME/Squatch on the Rocks]

RED MEAT - Under the Wrench [ALAMEDA COUNTY LINE/Ranchero]
Performing at The Mint next Saturday night at 10pm, and
before that as my guests on "Down Home", around 4pm.
BALFA TOUJOURS - Tow Truck Blues [LIVE FROM WHISKEY RIVER
	LANDING/Rounder]
The Tow Truck Blues being what you have before your
1964 Dodge Dart goes under the wrench...
